Ask Mike
Rehearsal Habits: We are what we repeatedly do!
How are your rehearsals going? Are they frustrating? Do you seem to never accomplish your goals?
Aristotle said, "Quality is not an act, it is a habit."
The author, Will Durant, expanded this thought when he said, "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit."
In this episode Derrick asks Mike to expand on these three thoughts from Jon Acuff, as they relate to rehearsal and doing the small things right.
"The are only three ways to improve your life (rehearsals):
1. Stop doing something.
2. Start doing something.
3. Get better at something you're already doing.
We complicate it because then we can blame the complications instead of ourselves, but it's actually very simple."
